Child moral development

Despite the image in the DC beltway, children are already well on the way of starting to develop the ideas of right and wrong by the age 4.(1) In Delinquency both individual characteristics and deviant peer associations play a causal role. (2) Many in the beltway consider the none bureaucratic or non elected masses a bunch of weak willed, gullible buffoons. who need protection from the likes of "rock stars" and "actors".

Eating disorders and public images

A question could many of these women for whatever reason have extremely low self esteem? thus making more susceptible to eating disorders? Can we blame entertainment? Wouldn't our efforts be more efficient spent on teasing and bullying?

Some research questions the claim that "western culture" causes anorexia nervosa.(3) Even if this claim is true, how can we explain many people who develop eating disorders who are out of the teenage culture. Women in the military, and women who are active in sports are more prone to having eating disorders.(4)

Sports has been known to empower women socially, and this can help women to resist being exploited (5). But, as mentioned above women in sports have a higher rate of eating disorders. Maybe the causes of eating disorders are complex, and blaming entertainment is just the easy was out.
